Greenify (Donation Package) 2.3

This donation package activates several experimental features within the Greenify app, which can be found in the app's settings.

It is important to note that some of these experimental features are still in their early stages of development. Their functionality may vary across different devices and ROMs. These features are intended for advanced users who possess the requisite understanding of their implications and how to utilize them correctly. There is a possibility that they may cause malfunctions or crashes in applications. In rare instances, a factory reset might be necessary for recovery. While efforts will be made to prevent such situations, no responsibility is taken for any potential consequences.

The installation and purchase of this package are safe, as nothing will change until you explicitly enable any of the experimental features.

Experimental Features:

• Allow (most) system apps to be greenified:
  Most system apps are vital to the core functionality of your device; greenifying them may lead to a reduction in usability. Should issues arise, it is advisable to degreenify the recently modified system apps and reboot your device, or deactivate this feature and reboot.
• Boost mode (requires Xposed):
  This feature patches the Android framework to allow Greenify to perform hibernation and other functions without relying on the slower root routine, while also improving compatibility with various features within Greenify.
• Allow GCM push messages to wake hibernated apps (requires Xposed):
  This modification enables the Google Cloud Messaging (GCM) broadcast to awaken hibernated applications, thus allowing you to greenify selected apps while retaining the ability to receive push notifications. However, be aware that not all applications use GCM for push mechanisms; some utilize their own background services for push notifications, which may not be affected by this patch. Users are encouraged to approach app developers about adopting a more battery-efficient GCM approach.
• Reveal hidden sync tasks (requires Xposed):
  Some applications may contain hidden synchronization tasks that run periodically and cannot be disabled through the standard settings menu. This feature exposes these hidden sync tasks and provides the ability to disable them.

Xposed Installation:

1. Download and install the Xposed installer: Xposed Installer.
2. Within the Xposed Installer, install the "Framework" and activate "Greenify" in the "Modules" section.
3. Reboot your device.

Why is another framework required for some features?
Since these experimental functionalities require OS-level patches, they traditionally necessitate ROM modifications specific to certain devices and distributions. The Xposed framework provides a versatile solution, enabling granular tweaks without altering your ROM, thus allowing access to these experimental features in a more flexible manner.
